We recommend 4WD only. The turn-off to the Cape Leveque Road is 9km from Broome, along the Great Northern Highway. The road is now sealed, however can get quite corrugated if you choose to enter communities; we recommend reduced tyre pressure and to have at least one spare tyre.
Be sure not to travel after heavy rains as the road is prone to flooding.
You can take your caravan on the Cape Leveque Road, but we do not recommend it as the road can be rough, sandy and very corrugated in parts. Depending on the condition of the road it may not be suitable for standard caravans. Single axle off-road caravans and camper trailers should have no problems. You cannot bring your caravan into Kooljaman, but you can stay at Middle Lagoon and Cygnet Bay.
Pets are not allowed on the Cape Leveque Road or any campsites.
