Wet and Dry Season

Best Time to Visit

If you’re in the process of planning a holiday in Broome, it’s quite likely you could end up scratching your head in complete confusion. You may have worries about being there in cyclone or stinger season, and it’s quite understandable if you’re left wondering when is the best time to go to Broome.

The Kimberley has a tropical monsoon climate. We do not have a summer or winter here, just wet and dry season. During the dry season, you can expect cooler days and breezy nights. Inland temperatures at night can get very cold. In the wet season the humidity increases and cyclones form offshore. This is still a great time to visit our region for lightning shows and pumping waterfalls!

The dry season runs from April/May to October/November and boasts warm days and clear skies. The wet season runs from November/December to March/April.
