Local Camping Guide
Caravan Parks & Camping in Broome
Whether you're arriving in a 40-foot motorhome or pitching a tent for the first time, Broome has options to suit. This is our working local guide — practical, honest and easy to update.
Prices and availability change seasonally. Always book directly with the park and confirm your setup is accepted before you travel.
Before you book
Confirm your vehicle length, rig type and camping setup are accepted — not all parks take large rigs, slide-outs or certain tow combinations.
Check the park's pet policy directly. Rules vary significantly between parks and some have breed or size restrictions.
Book well ahead for the dry season (April–October). Broome is one of Australia's most popular winter destinations and parks fill quickly, especially during school holidays.
Confirm seasonal opening dates and arrival arrangements for overflow and community camping sites before you travel.
Check current local camping rules and any permit requirements through the Shire of Broome website.
Seasonal Overflow Camping
During peak season, demand for camping in Broome can exceed the capacity of the main caravan parks. A small number of community and club venues have historically operated as overflow camping sites when authorised to do so. These are not permanent caravan parks and do not operate year-round. Operation is subject to annual confirmation, Shire of Broome approval and current demand.
Do not rely on overflow sites as your primary accommodation. Always have a confirmed booking at a licensed park before you travel. Check with the Shire of Broome for current-season authorisation before planning to use any overflow site.
